The elves were originally thought of by most as a race of demi-gods, who are often pictured as youthful-seeming men and women of great beauty living in forests and underground places and caves, or in wells and springs. They have been portrayed to be long-lived or immortal and as beings of magical powers, and they are. Elves were created in the image of the original god of the dimension, who loved the beautiful and demure appearance of the elven characteristics, creating one race per element at first. Eventually, those races intermingled, some even straying on their own to create new races, new cultures, and new breeds of beauty. "Long ears, long hearts" is an original White Elf saying on how elves are (or were at the time) to the world. Some things never change. Elves are the spiritual embodiment of ideals and elements...brought to life in a beautiful humanoid form. Very rarely will you find a grotesque elf...but it happens sometimes.
