The term "race" applies to a group who shares the same culture, gene type and biological traits and characteristics.
- Humanoid refers to any being whose body structure resembles that of a human, including upright stance and bipedalism.
- Therianthropic refers to descriptions of characters that simultaneously share human and nonhuman animal traits, like the Ser'pin'tiik, who share dragon characteristics.
- Anthropomorphic refers to the attribution of human characteristics to non-human creatures and beings, phenomena, material states and objects or abstract concepts, like the Serpen'taii.
- Feral refers to one that has escaped from domestication and returned, partly or wholly, to a wild state (usually not used to describe a race).
